PEACE FOR ALL

PEACE FOR ALL

PEACE FOR ALL

Iranian women are publicly cutting their hair to protest unlawful prosecutions, gender inequality, and forced confessions extracted via torture from peaceful demonstrators seeking freedom and justice. Reports show young female protesters have been targeted and shot in the eyes, causing permanent blindness. This movement draws on Iran's rich heritage of poetry, art, and human rights advocacy.

Thousands Behind Every Gaze

Thousands Behind Every Gaze

Thousands Behind Every Gaze

Eyes became the central symbol, merging faces into a shared gaze that represents unity, truth, and resistance. Kept open, they reflect the act of witnessing in the face of violence, inspired by the slogan, “Thousands stand behind every person killed.” The system extends into a second collection using poetry and a reinterpreted UNICEF emblem to express remembrance, empathy, and hope.

IMPACT

This project showed me that design can spark action and give people the courage to speak up. The work emotionally connected with others, opening conversations about supporting the movement, and it became the best-selling merch at the SCHOOLOFDESIGN INSTORE shop. It confirmed what matters most to me as a designer: using my skills for advocacy and creating work that drives real change.

REFLECTION

Working on Women, Life, Freedom was the moment I truly understood design as a tool for change. Seeing how visual storytelling could move people emotionally and push them to speak up made me fall in love with designing for social good. This project showed me that images can carry responsibility, memory, and power, and that design can stand beside movements, not just represent them. It shaped my commitment to creating work that matters, work that advocates, and work that exists beyond aesthetics.
